The Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) is a newly introduced manual focus macro lens by Venus Optics, which is an adaptation of the full-frame version of the lens. When used on MFT cameras (such as OM System or Panasonic), the 2x crop factor changes its original 2:1 ratio to an effective 4:1 ratio, making it capable of capturing microscopic details and textures that are not visible to the naked eye—perfect for nature, scientific, or extreme close-up photography.
It has an apochromatic (APO) optical design with 13 elements in 10 groups (including ED elements) to effectively reduce chromatic aberrations, resulting in excellent sharpness, contrast, and bokeh. The lens has a constant length due to internal focusing, a 9-blade aperture (f/2.8-22), and a weight of approximately 540g.
