Fujifilm revealed the mirrorless camera X-T30 III and the compact XC 13-33mm f/3.5-6.3 OIS lens on October 23, 2025. Together, these two products invigorate Fujifilm's established entry-level line and point to a plan for its full rebranding. This combination of camera and lens is designed for aspiring photographers and videographers who want a combination of retro looks, modern performance, and portability, following the success of the X-T30 series since 2019.
The X-T30 III enhances the X-T30 II's concept with subtle upgrades worth having, running on the X-Processor 5 for a faster experience. Its heart is a 26.1MP X-Trans APS-C BSI CMOS sensor, which produces eye-popping color with 20 Film Simulations, adding new options like Nostalgic Negative and Reala Ace. A compelling new feature is the Film Dial, which replaces the older Drive Dial, providing easy access to six presets, along with three presets you can customize (for a total of 11 programmable looks) - a surprisingly comprehensive addition to a lesser-cost camera assembly that rivals the much more expensive X-E5. The autofocus system now has AI-powered subject recognition for humans, animals, and vehicles, and can focus in as fast as 0.02 seconds. Further, in terms of video, the camera can shoot up to 6.2K/30p with a full open gate, thinking creatively, or 4K/60p with a slight crop. The built-in 2.36M-dot EVF and tilting 3-inch touchscreen still provide great options while keeping the entire user experience compact, and this camera still has a magnesium-alloy construction (378g). For the new users, there is also a full Auto shooting switch. The burst options provide even more clarity at 20fps electronically, and the battery life remains a full day at 425 shots in Eco mode. The bulk of the sophistication upgrades from the X-T30 II to the X-T30 III seem to evolve the processing hardware and creative modes, but stabilization remains as lens OIS - there is no internal stabilization offered. Consequently, bigger hands may find the controls a bit cramped.
The XC 13-33mm f/3.5-6.3 OIS is a great complement to this, not only Fujifilm's smallest X-mount zoom at just 125g and 4.4oz, but also a great travel lens. It has a 20-50mm equivalent range, so it has a wider start than most kit lenses. It has 4-stop optical stabilization and an incredibly close 7.87-inch minimum focus distance that is great for either creative macro shots or portraits. While the autofocus is incredibly fast (0.025 seconds), the variable aperture is its downside in low-light situations. You can tell in early tests that it's sharper than you would expect from a lens this size, but it did have a little softening on the tele end. You can purchase the XC 13-33mm for $400, or just $150 as a kit add-on. The add-on price would bring the kit to ~$1,149. Considering most premium alternatives start around $700 (e.g. the XF 16-50mm), the XC model does this all while providing more savings; it is not weather-sealed like some of the other collapsible-lens options.
This release reinforces Fujifilm's entry-level appeal with a stylish blend of analog-inspired dials and digital connectivity for smartphone upgraders. Although the X-T30 III is certainly not a revolutionary camera, the flexibility of the recipe, coupled with the lens's portability, could lead to a renaissance of creative experimentation at the entry price point. Expect consistent buying demand to persist through 2026.

VALHALLA, N.Y. - October 23, 2025 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Electronic Imaging Division, today announced the worldwide launch of its FUJIFILM X-T30 III (X-T30 III) mirrorless digital camera. The latest iteration in the X-T30 series, X-T30 III gives still-focused photographers access to film-inspired looks, a growing lineup of interchangeable lenses, and the confidence that comes from reliable autofocus and long battery life.
“X-T30 III is for stills-inspired storytellers ready to make their next move – leveling up beyond their smartphones or earlier FUJIFILM X Series gear and into a more intentional image-making process,” said Victor Ha, vice president, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Electronic Imaging and Optical Devices Divisions. “It combines a compact form factor and traditional design with modern innovations like AI autofocus, longer battery life, and one-button simplicity for ease of use in everyday situations. The added Film Simulation dial encourages artistic exploration with straight out of the camera results, reminding users of the strengths of Fujifilm’s image quality and color science, while support for interchangeable lenses provides additional creative flexibility as both their photo and video skills and interests grow.”
Product Features
Advanced image processing delivers superb results and fast, accurate autofocus
- FUJIFILM X-T30 III features a back-side illuminated 26.1-megapixel X-Trans™ CMOS 4 sensor and the latest high-speed X-Processor 5 image processor. Thanks to improved power efficiency, battery life is now 425 frames per charge (when using Economy Mode).
- The camera uses the latest subject detection autofocus powered by deep-learning AI technology. In addition to face and eye detection, it automatically recognizes and tracks a wide range of subjects, including animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones1.
- X-T30 III supports up to 6.2K/30p internal recording in HEVC 4:2:2 10-bit quality. It also features high frame rate options including 4K/60p and 1080/240p. Powerful digital image stabilization reduces both small amounts of shake and more pronounced movement, such as recording video while walking.
Compact, lightweight design with Film Simulation dial expands creative options
- FUJIFILM X-T30 III is the same size and weight as its predecessor, X-T30 II, making it ideal as an everyday carry. It measures 4.66x3.26x1.84in (118.4x82.8x46.8mm) and weighs 13.3oz2 (378g). The central viewfinder and dial-based design offers the same classic film- camera experience as other models in the X-T range.
- A total of 20 Film Simulations, including REALA ACE and NOSTALGIC Neg, can be accessed via the top-plate Film Simulation dial. This unique digital color reproduction technology faithfully recreates the look of traditional analog films, making it easy to get great results straight out of camera, even for first-time digital camera users.
- The dial has three customizable positions3 (FS1-FS3), where users can save their favorite Film Simulation and selected image settings as original Film Simulation recipes. These can be accessed quickly by turning the dial, adding extra creative options for different scenes and subjects, using options including Grain Effect, Color Tone, and Highlights, for a truly bespoke look.
Fully featured, yet simple to use

- The camera has a built-in flash. When switched on, it automatically adjusts flash output, making it ideal for portraits in low-light or backlit situations.
- The central viewfinder places the finder directly above the lens axis. This helps users focus more easily on the subject and background, recreating the classic film-camera experience.
- The tilting rear LCD monitor uses 1.62 million dots, making it simpler to frame images from high or low angles – perfect for travel and landscape photography.
- An ergonomically designed grip fits comfortably in the hand, offering assured handling despite the camera’s compact dimensions. • X-T30 III connects wirelessly to selected instax™ Link smartphone printers4 , for direct printing without using an app. Newly added support for the instax™ mini, instax™ SQUARE, and instax™ WIDE formats helps users enjoy a seamless experience from
