Canon announced the EOS R6 Mark III on November 6, 2025, a full-frame mirrorless camera designed for hybrid photographers and videographers. It succeeds the R6 Mark II, featuring a 32.5-megapixel CMOS sensor (35.9 x 23.9 mm), up from 24.2 megapixels. The native ISO range is 100-64,000, expandable to 50-102,400, a reduction from the Mark II’s 204,800 maximum, reflecting the higher resolution’s impact on noise. The camera measures 138.4 x 98.4 x 88.4 mm, weighs 609 g (body only), and uses a weather-sealed magnesium alloy chassis.
The R6 Mark III supports a mechanical shutter (1/8,000-30 s) and electronic rolling shutter (1/16,000-30 s) with bulb mode. Continuous shooting hits 40 fps (electronic) or 12 fps (mechanical/electronic first-curtain), buffering up to 150 RAW frames or 330 JPEGs on CFexpress Type B cards. Pre-continuous shooting captures 20 frames before full shutter press in RAW, JPEG, or HEIF, improving on the Mark II’s RAW-only pre-capture. In-body stabilization offers 8.5 stops (CIPA), with 7.5 stops for peripheral correction on wide-angle lenses. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II provides 6,097 autofocus points for stills and 4,641 for video, operating from EV -6.5 to 21 (stills) or -4 to 21 (video) at ISO 100.
Video recording includes 7K RAW Light (6912 x 4640) at up to 59.94 fps (12-bit), ProRes RAW at 29.97 fps, oversampled 4K UHD/DCI at 120 fps, and Full HD at 180 fps. Open Gate 7K at 30p supports vertical framing. Features like Canon Log 2/3 (15 stops dynamic range), waveform monitoring, metadata tagging, 4-channel audio, and full-size HDMI enhance workflows. Bitrates reach 2,600 Mbps for 7K RAW, with proxy support, though modes above 100 fps are capped at 2 hours. Storage uses one CFexpress Type B slot (up to 8 TB) and one UHS-II SD slot.
The camera has a 3.69m-dot OLED EVF (0.76x magnification, 100% coverage) and a 3-inch, 1.62m-dot vari-angle touchscreen. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, and a multi-function shoe. The LP-E6P battery delivers about 620 shots. A comparison with the R6 Mark II shows key differences:

Canon RF45mm F1.2 STM Lens Designed to Redefine Compact f/1.2 Prime Performance
The RF45mm F1.2 STM is a 45mm standard prime lens designed for natural perspectives close to human vision, with a wider angle than traditional 50mm options. It's lightweight (approx. 346g) and compact build makes it easy to handle for portraits, snapshots, landscapes, and more-equivalent to approx. 72mm on APS-C bodies like the EOS R7 or R50 cameras.
Key features include:
- Wide f/1.2 aperture enabled by innovative PMo aspherical lenses and gear-type STM with magnetic detection, reducing size and weight compared to larger f/1.2 lenses
- Rich, three-dimensional bokeh with nine aperture blades for smooth, circular blur; digital lens optimizer corrects distortions for outstanding rendering
- Fixed rear-lens focusing system minimizes image quality shifts across distances; aperture range (f/1.2 to f/16) allows flexible depth control, faster shutters, and low-ISO shooting
- Enhanced compactness via fixed-length barrel and minimum focusing distance, delivering value and reliability for diverse applications
